We had the good fortune of connecting with Emma Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emma, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve been working for other people very hard for over 20 years. My thought process behind starting my own business where is knowing who I was finally and what I could bring to the table. Working for someone else you only continue to make them wealthier and for them to build the lifestyle I wish I could have. No complaining that is the system that set up. I decided to make the choice to build my dream and create generational wealth for my family

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I got to where I am professionally by working hard and not taking shortcuts. I have done this diligently for decades. It has just been for other people. Creating Ariginal One has been a dream of mine. I recognize that my background in sales and in business management is now truly helpful for this new episode of my life. Being able to express myself creatively and see those things come into life is truly amazing. We have just launched our first comic book the Dreadheadz which has far exceeded my expectations originally. Our first debut release has put 20,000 copies in the streets of San Diego in over 200 locations
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If they were visiting San Diego the first place I would take them is the beach. We have multiple to choose from so I would decide at that moment. After that we may visit Chula Vista brewery. The only black on brewery in San Diego. After that I would take several pieces of paper and write several different locations on each paper. I would fold up those pieces of paper and put them in a hat or jar. Then I would let my friend pick from those several locations that were written on the paper without knowing what was on the paper. I love doing that. And there’s so many locations to see in San Diego that any random spot would be amazing. If that wasn’t the game I played we would go downtown to the gaslamp district and walk around. Have a couple of drinks and visit the restaurant called chefs
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize one of my childhood friends who more fits in the brother category. He goes by the name Cree Yator. With his inspiration I was able to see that I can do this entrepreneurship thing. I do not need anyone’s permission. I had it in me the whole time. He just helped me bring it out. Besides him I must thank the god above
