We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle & Jared Zacharias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle & Jared, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We have never been big risk takers in life and both came from jobs in education. But we also loved making videos and telling stories. One thing that we both really wanted was to not only have kids but have a work schedule that would allow us to be home with them as much as possible. So those things together lead us to explore the idea and then go with it!

Please tell us more about your career. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about.
A lot of people are curious what it’s like to work with my spouse. It is definitely kind of funny that my only coworker is also my coparent and spouse! Every Christmas we joke that our Christmas party is just the two of us. Honestly, we just really love being together so working together was a no brainer for us. We each have our strengths and weaknesses that balance each other out pretty well. We each tackle different parts of our business on the business side, the creative side and the people side. But we also share the same passions behind what we do, sharing stories. We are so incredibly thankful we get to do this together and work with so many incredible people along the way!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Oh man, this is such a hard question! We are both born and raised San Diegans and we love where we live! If someone were to visit San Diego for a week, we would take them to quite a few places. We not only love going to the beach pretty much all year, but there are some really great hikes in the hills and there’s even snow in San Diego once in a while in the mountains! If they had kids we could hit up Legoland or one of the many wonderful museums, zoos or botanical gardens. We love little Italy, have a soft spot for Seaport Village (where we got engaged), and Old Town. Gaslamp is a wonderful place to eat, and Coronado is great for food and riding bikes. North County boasts hidden gems, lakes to explore, breweries and wineries, and farms and nursuries. Seriously there is no lack of things to do here and I would recommend them staying longer!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One of our biggest inspirations when we started out was a company called Still Motion. They were just so integral in showing the community what wedding films could be and were an inspiration to so many. They pushed the limits and really drove home the story telling concept that is in so many wedding films we see today. We also have to shout out to all our vendor friends who continually refer us. We are in such a people industry and we love all the incredible relationships we’ve built over the years! Last shout out goes to our wonderful parents who hang out with our kids while we’re working every weekend!
