We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia Stevenson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cynthia, what do you attribute your success to?
The most crucial factor behind my success and the success of my brand is my faith. Success is a state of mind. I have never doubted that my business would be a success. I was crazy enough to believe that starting a travel agency at height of the pandemic would work, and it did!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I fell in love with traveling as a child, while traveling with my father, who owned a Concrete/Construction business and was an Evangelical minister. Our family followed the work and ministry wherever it led us. During that time, traveling became exciting for me because of the time spent on the road and getting to meet new people in various locations. After years in corporate America and taking opportunities to travel, the idea of ADR Travel group originated while on vacation with friends to the Dominican Republic, in 2015. During this trip, I became obsessed with the idea of opening a Bed and Breakfast in the Dominican Republic. The Bed and Breakfast would eventually become a long-term goal. However, in February 2020, ADR Travel Group was brought to life as a full-service travel agency. As of today, my husband and I are the owners and operators of ADR Travel Group. We host multiple group trips a year and we are also the official travel agency for the Ms. Veteran America contest. We provide travel services for weddings, private groups, corporate travel groups, as well as luxury vacations for couples and solo travelers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite group trips was to Los Angeles! We took the Hop on Hop Off Tour on our first day in the city. This was great because we could take our time at each stop and then catch the next bus. The” Hollywood” sign was my favorite stop because you see it on television all the time and we took great pictures there. Our favorite spot to eat was Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles. It was so good that we visited Roscoe’s twice. We also took a Marina del Rey luxury boat cruise that was fabulous. We did not get everything on our list, but we had a wonderful time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Shoutout is dedicated to my husband, Andrew. He has supported every crazy dream and idea I have ever had. His love and support have allowed me the freedom to be successful.
