We had the good fortune of connecting with Craig Levinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Craig, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have had the mindset of creating a life that genuinely makes me happy and fulfilled. I am extremely hard working with someone I am passionate about, however when it’s a job I am not interested in I am not the greatest worker. This has pushed me to always do something with my life that bring that joy, something I can wake up and get excited to do. And the opportunity to work with my best friend as my business partner has pushed me further into making it happen
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business Real Deal Lifestyle is all about motivating, inspiring and uplifting others. We are building a community of likeminded individuals that are here to make a positive impact on themselves and others. We’re all about honesty, transparency and holding each other accountable. Our tag line is Be Real. Be You. Promoting authenticity and the idea of being the best version of yourself. We wanted to create a movement people could relate to and connect to on a personal level. We work with people from all walks of life, he doesn’t matter how many followers you have, how strong you are, what matters is you’re REAL with yourself and others. It took a lot of hard work, sacrifice and persistence to get where we are now, and we’re still scratching the surface. The biggest lesson I’ve learned from running a start-up is, if you have a vision you truly believe in stick with it. Don’t let others negativity and pessimistic attitude determine your success. Learn to adapt and change, but stick to your mission and goal for your business. Our goal as a brand is to inspire and positively impact as many lives as we can around the world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to explore some of the beautiful hikes San Diego has to offer, from Ho Chi Minh trail to Cowles Mountain. Taking the boat over to Coronado to see all it has to offer. Grab drinks at Altitude downtown and see the amazing view of the city and downtown area. Experience a yoga class on the beach during sunset in Pacific Beach. Grab street tacos and a burrito in the area. I think part of experiencing a culture and area is the food they have to offer. Play a round of golf at the famous Torrey Pines.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
`My biggest support system has always been my mom. The most selfless, kind hearted woman who has sacrificed and given everything to her children and still does. Instilling work ethic, a sense of purpose and most importantly always doing what makes you happy. Giving me the freedom to explore my own journey through life migrating across the world at a young age to chase my passion, yet still always being there to support me in whatever I choose to pursue. A positive childhood that has shaped my reality and created a strong sense of self
