Hi Cory, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Starting a business is risky. Business requires your personal money and your personal time. You are risking the money you have saved. That money could be earning investment interest, therefore, you are also risking the interest you could be earning. You are also risking the time it takes to start a business. But these risks are worth the possible reward. The possibility of creating a successful business is satisfying and could be financially lucrative. I started FilterShine and it is now a successfully business. I’m glad I took the risk and I would do it again. Without risks, your reward will be limited, I suggest taking risks in all aspects of life and enjoying those rewards.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our team Founder Cory Clarke has been in the Kitchen Exhaust service industry since 1986 and has been a leader in this field as well as changing the way grease is contained, maintained, and disposed. His focus is effective and efficient green filter exchange for food service establishments. Cory was featured on SDVoyager Magazine as an influencer in the San Diego food industry. Our history FilterShine has been servicing the restaurant industry since 2008. From the beginning, our company has been searching for new ways to provide the best service and care to our customers. Throughout the years, FilterShine has been chosen by many facility managements to provide service to their kitchen exhaust hoods. We have purchased other competitors to become one of the biggest grease hood kitchen exhaust companies in San Diego.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I take my friends golfing at the Aviara Golf Course in Carlsbad, CA. This course was featured on the cover of Tiger Woods golf.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents provided a stable home life, they are still going strong and still married. They created a platform for my personal success. My wife has supported my risk taking in starting FilterShine. We had to take our finances and invest them in Filtershine.
