We had the good fortune of connecting with Catalina Andrade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Catalina, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
At Whole Bella I support and guide moms to relief stress with guided meditation and essential oils. The reason that I combine the guided meditation and essential oils is because I have seen the power it has when you combine these tools. Meditation is very soothing to the nervous system and specific essential oils can enhance that effect. At the same time it is important to learn how to use essential oils in a safe way. Yes, essential oils are natural, but they continue to be a chemical too. This is why I teach moms how to effectively use essential oils for relaxation and to keep their family healthy. Essential oils are becoming popular now as oppose to, 20 years ago, when I started using essential oils. Now you’re even able to find essential oils at the grocery store, due to a demand for natural solutions. Unfortunately, in the USA we don’t have a standard of safety in the essential oil industry. This is why I recommend to anyone interested in essential oils to really take the time to research the essential oil brand they want to use. You want to purchase essential oils from a company that can ensure the purity and compositional potency of their product. When you practice meditation with essential oils you’re creating positive memories in your brain. For example, if I ask you to close your eyes and smell a lemon, you’ll not only be able to smell it, but you might be able to go back to a specific memory. When you combine the use of an essential oil with a meditation practice you’re creating a memory attached to a specific smell.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Although having and growing a business is not easy, there are so many rewards that come from it. One of the things I love from what I do at Whole Bella is watching the transformation of my clients. I notice how the moms that I support and guide start creating and building a healthier and more relaxing lifestyle not only for them, but for the rest of their family. I love watching whole families becoming stronger and thriving. Deciding to quit my corporate job wasn’t easy, but now that I look back I’m happy I did. I’m grateful for having a 9 to 5 job before, because it also showed me how to use my skills of leadership, organization, problem solving, and emotional intelligence to support the work I do now at Whole Bella. My business was born by combining my Masters in Organizational Leadership with my 20 years experience as a Holistic Health Practitioner. With my educational background and personal skill set I’m able to support working moms balance family and work.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Previous pandemic, every time I had a friend or family member visiting me I would always take them to Coronado. We started at the beach and then got to eat a refreshing sorbet from one of the little shops inside the Coronado Hotel. Another of my favorite places to take friends or just to visit on a weekend is the Liberty Public Market at Liberty Station. This is such a great place to eat, stroll around, buy a fresh flower bouquet and get a dessert. During the summer I love going to their outdoor movie night and picnic. Balboa Park is also a must. Specially the botanical garden and then eating lunch at the Japanese Garden Restaurant. Their salads are divine.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Whenever I think of my success I think about my parents. Two loving people who showed me the importance of working hard and to always chase my dreams with actions.
