We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolyn Pascual White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carolyn Pascual, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our success with The Social Sipper is amazing and valuable content! Beautiful imagery is a huge part of this for us but it’s also about knowing our audience and sharing the content that they want. Whether we’re creating content to serve our community or helping our clients create content for their audiences, our number one focus is making sure that we’re adding value. This is only possible because we know our audience so well. I’m always connecting with our followers, asking questions and evaluating analytics to see what is resonating with our audience. When we stay focused on sharing things our people love, it becomes so easy to attract the right people and build an amazing community!
What should our readers know about your business?
Our business might be the most fun ever because when we’re not sharing simple, Insta-worthy cocktails, we’re helping food brands and influencers grow their businesses with stunning food & drink photos and videos. Coming from a production background, we’ve worked with huge brands with giant budgets and we wanted to bridge that gap. We implement the techniques used in high end shoots in everything we do, even if we don’t have 50 people making it happen. And now, we share the how to behind what we do so brands and influencers can take amazing photos themselves and budget doesn’t have to get in the way of having professional quality images. Growing a business is definitely a learning experience but it really all comes down to doing things outside of my comfort zone daily and having unwavering commitment to making it happen… especially when it’s hard.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
La Jolla Cove, PB Fish Shop, cocktails at You & Yours Distilling, Torrey Pines, Windansea beach and dinner in Little Italy are definitely all on the list!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am so fortunate to have so many amazing people supporting me on my journey, from my food styling mentor, Peilin Breller, who got me started in this industry to my “biz besties” who I connect with regularly for support. But I have to dedicate this shoutout to my family and my husband, Travis. Living and working together during a pandemic is not easy but Travis has always been my biggest supporter. He’s always cheering me on pushing me to take risks. Our most recent endeavor is teaching food photography and styling to others… something that we never dreamed would happen and wouldn’t be possible without us working together!
