We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryssa Wisnewski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bryssa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business came from wanting to help others. I realized event planning could be a great business when I was planning my own wedding. The amount of stress that goes into planning and making sure everything is in order and taken care of is a FULL TIME job. So as a planner, I hired my own wedding planner and it was the best thing I did. It made my wedding planning process easy and enjoyable. So I wanted to give that to other brides so are going through the same thing!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Magnolia Events is a luxury event planning business. We plan events from birthday parties, bridal showers, baby showers, proposals, weddings, and so much more! Our goal is to allow all of our clients to feel the ease of having their event guided by our team. What this looks like is help with design, booking vendors, creating a timeline, setting up, and tearing down on the day of your event so you can actually enjoy yourself! Magnolia Events ensures that you get that feeling of luxury by adding their expertise to really elevate the space and your guest experience!

We are still a growing business and trying to overcome challenges everyday. The wedding/event industry is not exempt from the effects of inflation and that has prevented people from wanting to hire help, and just trying to do it all on their own. We have done one too many consultations with clients who decide to DIY and then call us a month before the event needing our help because they’re overwhelmed. In this economy, we understand it’s not always in budget to hire a planner, but if you can afford it, our clients are always happy they chose us!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Magnolia Events is based out of Clovis, CA. Clovis/Fresno California is usually referred to as the Central Valley. We love that we call this home because we are quite literally central to everything. If my best friend came here into town, I would take her all over California so she can get the full experience! My best friend is actually from Kansas (lives in a Clovis now) but if she was visiting for the first time, this is what we would do or a whole week!

Monday- Stay Local in The Central Valley
Breakfast: Batter Up Pancakes
Lunch: House of Juju
Dinner: Dog House Grill (Special to Fresno as it magnifies the college campus mascot Fresno State Bulldogs.) Their food and atmosphere has no comparison to the people in Fresno.

Tuesday- Day Trip To San Francisco
With a lot of beautiful scenery, there is no shortage of sites to see! We could maybe catch a day game at Oracle Park to see the SF Giants play. Dinner at Epic Steak is a MUST!

Wednesday- Monterey Bay
Visit the aquarium & enjoy food on the pier! Also a trip to Alvarado Street Brewery is a MUST!

Thursday-Go to Disneyland (Yes, I am a Disney adult and I won’t apologize)

Friday- Universal Studios
Drink some Butter Beer with Harry Potter! 🙂

Saturday- San Diego
La Jolla is my favorite city in San Diego!

Sunday- Rest day, enjoy some coffee and read on the beach until it’s time for your flight home!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If it weren’t for my own wedding planner, Gio Smith with Olive & Grace, I wouldn’t have event dreamt it possible to be a planner myself. Before turning this into an official business, I used to help friends and family plan their birthdays, showers, vacations, etc. However, I never saw it as an official business. During my own wedding planning, seeing Gio Smith go above and beyond to help me with my wedding and take off all the stress from me, I knew I wanted to give you that to other people!
