Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d make sure to show them the vibrant outdoor lifestyle and cultural richness of our area. We’d kick off the week with an exhilarating bike ride along the picturesque Silver Strand, enjoying the fresh sea breeze and scenic views. After working up an appetite, we’d hop on the ferry back, a perfect chance to see the city from a different perspective.

For lunch, we’d head to Plant Power for some delicious vegan fare—it’s all about fresh, flavorful, and guilt-free eating. Post-lunch, we’d spend a leisurely afternoon at Balboa Park, perhaps lounging on the lawn or strolling through the lush gardens.

Throughout the week, we’d embrace the outdoors—beach outings, hiking local trails, and more cycling are all on the list. Each activity would offer us a chance to reconnect with nature and each other.

For a touch of culture, we’d explore the art scene, especially my favorite, the Museum of Man, which offers fascinating insights into anthropology and cultural histories. It’s a must-visit for anyone wanting to delve into the human story through incredible exhibits.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If there’s one person who truly deserves a shoutout in my story, it would undoubtedly be my mother. Although she passed away at a young age, the lessons she imparted have been a guiding light throughout my career, especially in realms as demanding as climate justice and community resilience. Her life was a testament to resilience, teaching me not just to endure but to thrive amidst challenges
