We had the good fortune of connecting with Bobby de Lancellotti and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bobby, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
The value of love matters most to me. It’s something that was ingrained in me at a very young age. Seeing my mother‘s acts of everyday kindness and her amazing heart of generosity was the motivating factor that set the trajectory for the rest of my life. One of the earliest influences in my life was the film Brother Son Sister Moon about Saint Francis of Assisi and his extravagant love for the poor and the forgotten. When I became a follower of Jesus and eventually started a church, loving the poor and serving the most vulnerable in our community was the hallmark of who our church was and what we were all about. Fast forward to 2018, I started a 501c3 nonprofit organization, Estero Bay Kindness Coalition in San Luis Obispo County, CA. Our mission is to bring the four corners of our community together: for-profits, nonprofits, schools, and churches to serve some of the most under-resourced, food insecure kids and families on the Central Coast. Love and everyday kindness is at the heart of how I live my life and run my organization. I truly believe in the words of Mother Teresa, “small things done with great love can change the world.”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have found my passion and fulfillment in the nonprofit world. Our organization provides food and quality clothing to over ninety families in the greater Estero Bay area on a weekly basis. I’m proud of the way we transformed our organization after the pandemic to meet the unprecedented needs of our community. I’m also proud of how much the organization has grown and that I am able to employ my daughter, who is our grant writer and marketing lead.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to one of Estero Bay Kindness Coalition’s food pantries and put them to work serving our community!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shout out to my wonderful wife, Denise de Lancellotti and my incredible Estero Bay Kindness Coalition team of over fifty volunteers who help serve our community on a weekly basis!
