We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Reader and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The only way to any degree of success is through risk. In each step of climbing the entrepreneurial ladder, risk is there. I’ve learned through my business choices and growth that on the other side of every risk there is also a door of opportunity. It is scary, exciting and empowering all at the same time! Risk never fully goes away no matter your level of success, and that’s the beauty and thrill of growing your own business.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m lucky to be apart of a group of visionary, forward thinking and genuine women in a growing aesthetics industry. I’ve worked hard (still working hard) to get to where am, and I feel empowered and humbled having the opportunity to help people feel confident and unstoppable in their skin. We are making waves in the industry and in the lives of those we treat. My MO and mission statement is to crush the stigma behind injectables and aesthetic treatments. I take a massive responsibility in the fact that people trust me with their faces and how they feel entering the world everyday after seeing me. A recent patient told me, “You are saving marriages out here. You made me feel myself again and confident! I’m happier at home and it’s reciprocated by my spouse.” Aesthetics is so much deeper than the stigma portrays!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Endless things to see! Volleyball at South mission beach, sunset shots at Wonderland in OB, Sunset Cliffs, Bird Rock secret lookouts, Blacks beach trail, brunch at Cody’s in La Jolla, Balboa park, dinner at Born and Raised Little Italy.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many successful women business owners that inspire me everyday, including women in my family and my close circle of friends. That type of energy is contagious and motivation for my business. I’ve always tried to follow that energy in life and in my career which has led me to amazing, influential humans. A big chunk of gratitude goes to Aluma and its mission statement to help push women forward independently in the aesthetic industry. What a group of female powerhouses!
