We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Rawlins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
When I started Rawlins Law, I got on my hands and knees and gave the business to the Lord. Rawlins Law is his and I prayed that he would use me, guide me and be with me every day. I did not want a tagline or a slogan, so I chose Micah 6:8 for the business, which states, “do justly, love mercy, walk humbly.” Every day, I try to honor him and carry out that verse.
What should our readers know about your business?
I wanted to be a lawyer since age 6. I truly care about every client no matter the size of the case. I grew up playing sports so I have that inner fight in me and will do whatever I can to fight for justice for my clients. I am proud of staying true to myself, my beliefs, and always doing what is right and in the best interest of the client. Working in the restaurant industry through college, law school, and studying for the bar was invaluable. I learned how to deal with every type of person and situation, while maintaining my professionalism and composure. Having a customer service background and being a people person is very important in the practice of law. I pride myself on being relatable and easy to talk with. I am willing to meet with clients and explain anything so they feel comfortable and confident throughout the process.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well San Diego has so many amazing places to see and visit.
La Jolla Shores
Javier’s is one of my favorite spots for drinks/food
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family. I would not be the person that I am today without my amazing parents. God blessed me with the best parents who raised me right and have continued to provide love, support, guidance and friendship. Having parents who have always believed in me and pushed me to excel has been a huge part of my success. (Cas & Brenda)
My sister, Cassie who has always encouraged me and been right by my side in life.
My husband, Trent who encouraged me to take the leap of faith when I started my own practice.
Mr. Duquette, the best teacher and mentor who I will always remember and think about daily. I wish he was here to see my logo was designed for him as he always used to say, “Ride your tigers, or they will eat you up!”
