We had the good fortune of connecting with Anisha Shorter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anisha, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Never giving up! Since the seed was planted in me to become an entrepreneur, I never gave up on doing just that. Despite the lack of resources, support, finances, I never gave up. When issues arise I take my time, never stop pushing, and get it done.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My love for event planning started after I first watched “The Wedding Planner”with Jennifer Lopez, LOL.  I just loved her job so much that I began researching wedding planning courses. My older brother paid for me to attend a program , I completed it and became a Certified Wedding/Event Coordinator in 2006. From there I applied/received my business license, set up a P.O. Box and went on to work as In-House Coordinator for The Sycamore Plaza in Lakewood,CA. I coordinated my first events there which were weddings. anniversary parties and holiday parties. It was great until I realized how little resources, support, and guidance I had as 19 year old in 2007. I had to put entrepreneurship down for a while until I could get the support I needed. After a few years off completing medical degrees and licenses, I decided to relaunch my event planning company. Prior to COVID19, I introduced the champagne wall to Los Angeles area being first to showcase it in the area. During COVID19 the champagne wall became a hit for “drive-by” events to support the social distancing practices. Since then, I have coordinated several kinds of events from weddings, album release events, corporate events.birthday dinners, galas, celebrity events,  etc. Each event I’ve done has taught me something and I’ve enjoyed the process. Also, I recently launched an Amazon Storefront that I use to help my clients shop for event essentials, decor, and event must-haves. It is also very resourceful for event vendors such as bartenders or other planners, supplying them with the things they need, as well as some ICONIC pieces. So shop up LOL!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are in LA!! I love a shop and stroll day on Melrose, roller skating at the beach in Long Beach, grabbing dinner at Prank for some crispy cauliflower (yum), taking a cruise alongside Malibu and possibly even grabbing some coffee or smoothie at Hot and Cool Cafe in Leimert Park. Depends on the day for me ! LA has tons to offer

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

This is a photographer that has worked many events with me and always carpets great content for my brand.
