We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Zabala and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyssa, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because I believe that infusing passion into your work can make such a big impact on the world. One of my favorite quotes “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Art, creativity, purpose, and passion are what makes me come alive. Whether it’s a song, a design, or a marketing campaign I’m working on—my purpose is to help others feel that spark of life and light, which in turn allows us all to make a bigger impact on the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here are a few of my favorite spots in San Diego, which makes for an exhilarating day: Start off with a drink at Holy Matcha, enjoy, and snap some IG pics while you sip. Stop at The Girl Can’t Help It Vintage to treasure hunt and admire all the awesome vintage finds. El Zarape on Park Blvd for a burrito. But be sure you request for it to be wrapped in a quesadilla for some extra deliciousness. An’s Dry Cleaning https://adcgelato.com/ for the most unique ice cream flavors. Their flavor tours are amazing too! Walk off some of the food after lunch on Spruce Street Suspension Bridge. Get the heart pumping and snap some more photos! Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage and Meditation Gardens for some calm meditation time. The benches by the koi ponds are the best. End the day at Rusti Cucina https://www.rusticucina.com/ for some of the best Italian food in San Diego. Every single item on their menu is delicious.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to a few people, organizations, and books. I’d like to dedicate my inspiration for helping make an impact on the world to the One Love Movement and its founder, Kim. She has been an inspiration to me with her selfless acts of kindness and compassionate action around the world. One Love Movement offers weekly donation yoga classes and their Kindness Quests are amazing. Next is Mandy Ferdman, Energy Practitioner & Intuitive Coach, and Founder of Human Unveiled. Mandy has encouraged me from the first day I met her and has supported me through many career changes! Mandy has encouraged me from the start and has always had my back through many career changes! She is truly a light and offers so much to this world. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz and The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield has been transformational and helpful in guiding my journey. Last but definitely not least…the love, encouragement, and support from my parents, my fiance Dario, and my best friends have empowered and encouraged me every day. I give so much recognition and credit to them!
