We had the good fortune of connecting with Logan Avant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Logan, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My grandfather would tell me, “If you don’t have tragedy in your life son, you’re probably not doing anything.” This was his typical explanation when I came home with a black eye, busted lip, or broken bone after a normal day at school or cruising the streets on my bike or skateboard  For as long as I can remember, my grandfather’s perspective has been the foundation for my approach to risk factors in life and in business.

Risk and tragedy are elements of an equation that are certain in life and in business. It comes down to realizing the consequences of taking risks can go many directions. And so, we have two approaches to taking risks, to either steer clear and avoid the consequences or, to seek it out on a journey of growth. I chose option two, when the growth opportunities outweigh the potential risks or unfavorable consequences. There is no doubt we’re all built a little differently in this way for sure. For me, the journey and life experience often outweighs the risk of feeling as if I have not lived life fully.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So today, at this very moment, we are launching The COBO Pod, a boutique video and podcasting studio in Oceanside, CA. This new venture is part of a group of COBO brands, or CO-lla-BO-ration brands, if you will. COBO Bottle is part of the family of brands focused on progressive sustainability offerings in both product and service industries.

We started COBO Pod because video and audio content is needed now more than ever, there is no doubt, people are watching and listening. In many cases, businesses, influencers and educators need a creative space and team to support their professional content creation. We have taken a local and community boutique approach to offer video and audio production studio projects on a small-scale friendly budget. Being able to help local businesses collaborate and build their missions is something we are so stoked to support. I am constantly blown away by the stories of San Diego local entrepreneurs, businesses and pillars of the community.  Every day we’re fired up to bring their stories and messages to life in the studio.

For a preview of a podcast we sponsor in Oside, check out the COBO Pod series production, SoCal Vibes. We’re really proud to be a part of our Oceanside and San Diego County community, I’m truly thankful for the local support!

The life of small business ventures hasn’t been easy for me and my team but we’re not looking for easy. Our team is made up of folks that prefer the road less traveled, and that said, we welcome challenges. Taking this approach allows us to be flexible and open minded about what we offer.

Something that most folks may not know is that all of the brands I’ve created invest time, resources and money into sustainability education and socioeconomic initiatives. I believe there is a way to operate a successful business in an environmentally sustainable way while giving back to the community.  Gosh, this really gets me excited! There is nothing like creating things that help the Earth and the people, I hope it gives other folks the feel good vibes too.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Oh, for sure we would spend most of the time in North County! My favorite spots are up here but I’m a bit biased being an Oceanside resident. The equation is a bit different now after COVID 19 and I hope that there is a success story on the other side of this thing for my favorite spots.

Food: The Privateer for some pizza and local ingredients salad We’d take a trip up to Cyclops Farms for fresh veggies Wrench & Rodent, Seabastro Pub for best sushi on the West Coast (best coast) The Plot for vegan perfection, Jalisco Cantina makes amazing margaritas and has awesome food as well.

Things To Do: Hey, go to our beaches and enjoy the beautiful coastline. That stretch of the 101 between Torrey Pines and Oceanside is something we write songs about! There is so much local culture and community here in Oceanside. Come and see us at the COBO Pod by the beach and say hey! Heck we might even take you on a tour of town and drink a local June Shine (COBO Pod sponsor) with ya.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and friends have been supportive of my ideas in every step of my journey. Also my business partners and our clients and customers for saying yes to working with us and believing in our brands.
