Meet Delaney Kuepper | Social Media Manager and Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Delaney Kuepper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Delaney, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up in Encinitas, I always loved supporting local small businesses located along the coast. The community and culture we have in SoCal is so beautiful; and when I got older I realized I wanted to be someone who could contribute to the diversity we have here. After working as a content creator making videos for businesses around the US, I realized I wanted to support the communities that were closer to my heart. I then delved into the management side of social media, learning how to support the shops and startups that make SoCal so unique and charming. I now work with businesses in Southern California to create social media accounts that fully represent their brand’s core identity, and get enough reach and engagement to ensure their business thrives. I am an independent social media manager and college student looking to help local businesses flourish.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my business in 2022 and I am hoping to turn it into a full agency in the next few years. I am very personable and love hearing about my clients’ stories so I can full understand their vision and take it to the next level. I am still in the starting phases of accepting clients and building a portfolio, but I am incredibly passionate and driven. I know that my knack for social media marketing is highly beneficial for small business owners who don’t have the time to devote to building their social media. I have learned that every business has something unique and niche about them, but the challenge is portraying that to the larger audience. I want the world to see how strong young female entrepreneurs can be as well as how important small businesses are to the local community.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite restaurants in Encinitas are The Bier Garden and The Roxy. These are my go-tos for lunch or dinner. The Seaside Market does have great sushi and drinks if the weather permits a beach day though. Since my favorite drink is boba, I visit Gelato 101 more than I should admit; but if I’m craving a smoothie Swami’s Cafe açaí bowls always hit the spot. Thrifting is one of my favorite pastimes so Thrify Threads in Encinitas and Uptown Cheapskate in Carlsbad always leave me walking out with an armful of new outfits.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A book that deserves a lot of credit is Atomic Habits by James Clear and a professor I had named John Wie who taught my Social Media Marketing course.
