We had the good fortune of connecting with Teddy Droseros and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Teddy, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success is a feeling. My hope for each day is to feel fully content when I lay my head to sleep at night. If I’m getting the most out of everyday, by default, my future will be “successful”. As long as I’m truly giving 100% of my love and focus towards something, I’m successful!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The foundation for Grateful Peoples started back in my 20’s when I took a few years to really focus on myself. I completely cut out alcohol, exercised consistently, ate really clean food and focused on mindfulness. This experience allowed me to better understand who I am and what I want to do in life. I learned that everything we do is a reflection of how we feel on the inside, so my main focus for creating art or building a business is making sure my mind and body are operating to their potential.

The art I’m focusing on now is gaining more control over my daily habits. I feel this is by far the most important factor when thinking about how to have the biggest impact with Grateful Peoples!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beach of course! We would take some time to explore all of the little nooks at Sunset Cliffs, one of my favorite places to relax and reflect. A few visits to Bird Rock Coffee Roasters is a must, as well as a pie from Tribute Pizza and a waffle cone from Stella Jeans Ice Cream!

One of my favorites part of living in San Diego is how close we are to Mexico. It’s a blessing to have a different culture just a car ride away! We’d hit up Ensenada and Valle de Guadalupe for some of the best wine and food!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Grateful Peoples would not exist if it weren’t for the support of my family and the genuine encouragement from my friends! My family and friends put me in a position where I could get the idea off the ground, and since then, I’ve been blessed with a community of people who’ve helped it grow!

There’s too many people to shout out! I’d like to thank all of the people who’ve made a connection, made a home for one of our projects, or simply showed me some love! The positive energy from others is a major motivational factor for me.

And of course, a special shout out to all of the amazing educators who help bring Grateful Peoples to their classroom!
