Meet Taelor McMurray | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taelor McMurray and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taelor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My initial thought process behind starting my own business was that I bring too much to the table to sell myself short at a 9-5 job that was not going to get me to where I want and deserve to be in this life. I did not want to work for anyone but myself because I knew my self worth from the beginning. I love being able to push my creative self enough where I can come up with new ideas and ways for me to become the most successful entrepreneur possible not only for myself but for my daughter. I want her to grow up knowing that you can do anything you set your mind to and to always believe in yourself so that the possibilities are endless.

What should our readers know about your business?
I currently own Honey Beauty House which is a beauty studio that offers multiple different self care services including lash extensions and makeup. Along with Honey Beauty House, this year I have decided to expand my business ventures and to create new opportunities for myself as an entrepreneur. These will be announced towards the end of 2022 as I finish completing my business plans. Opening your own business is challenging and can be extremely stressful at times but in the end if the passion is there for what you are doing, you will know that it is all worth it at the end of the day. I have come a long way as a beautician and a new mother and I have no doubt in my mind that my name will be known not only in my city but all over the world when my time comes.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
San Diego has endless amounts of places for people to explore but there are some gems that just can’t go unseen when you’re here. A couple of places I love to go get some good eats would be El Carrito in Barrio Logan and one of my favorite spots Tita’s Kitchenette in National City. When getting food this good, sometimes you need to just find a spot to sit and really enjoy it so my go to spot when I need to relax and get lost in the flavors would have to be Sunset Cliffs or Balboa Park for a little picnic. We have so many different types of places to see and foods to eat and being born and raised here in San Diego I have grown to appreciate every single part of where I’m from.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my daughter who is my absolute world. My daughter has not only brought peace in my life but having her has taught me that there is more to this life and I will never take it for granted. Looking at her and knowing that one day this will all be hers, gives me the motivation to never stop, to always be willing to do more and never less or just enough.
