Meet Susanna Powell | Real Estate Professional

We had the good fortune of connecting with Susanna Powell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Susanna, how do you think about risk?
I think risk taking is an intrinsic part of life. Thirty plus years ago I took a major risk and came to Mexico at age 22 with my sister to open a restaurant and bar in Cabo San Lucas Mexico. Owning and operating this business while raising a family since 1989 is what has given me a leg up when I began real estate. I have seen Cabo change from a one stop light town to the leading luxury destination in Mexico.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an agent for Los Cabos Sotheby’s International Realty in Los Cabos Mexico. I think my thirty plus years owning and operating a business, raising a family and early days of working for Coldwell Banker sets me apart from other agents. I have lived the change and growth of the area and have first hand knowledge not just of the developments but of the developers themselves. It puts me in the unique position of being able to protect the best interests of my clients which I value above all. I could not be more proud and honored to represent the Sotheby’s International Realty Brand. The level of world wide support and networking is second to none. We are the premiere luxury real estate brand in the world.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love having visitors to Cabo! If they are active like me we always start our day with a walk either around the marina or on The Pedregal mountain. Watching the sunrise over the ocean is an amazing way to start the day. I have a few different beaches I love to go for swimming in the ocean and relaxing. For a more boisterous day Medano is great either at Sand Bar or Sur Beach House. You can set up with an umbrella and order food and drinks while dipping in the ocean and catching some rays. The hustle and bustle of Medano is a lot of fun and people love all the action. For quieter beach days I take people to Chileno or Palmilla, much less crowded and quiet with great swimming at both. A day trip to Todos Santos is always a great side adventure with many new and amazing restaurants to choose from and an array of art galleries and shops. During season The Art Walk in San Jose is a must. The Plaza is bustling with people and artists displaying their creations and the surrounding streets are blocked off from cars so only pedestrians can roam. Sportfishing with Pisces fleet is a favorite with visitors as we have the best Marlin fishing in the world. On their last night I have a tradition of eating at Cocina de Mar at The Esperanza Resort. The food and location is beyond amazing.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of my greatest experiences was attending a Sotheby’s International Realty Ninja Selling Installation. Everything that Ninja teaches aligns with what I was already practicing in my life….abundance, gratitude and honor. By applying these values to my professional career not just my personal life, the flow of being in service to my clients is seamless. I operate from a place of integrity and plentitude and am blessed to be doing what I love where I love to live.
