Meet Crystal Sanford | Educational Advocate, Speech Pathologist & Autism Mom

We had the good fortune of connecting with Crystal Sanford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal, what do you attribute your success to?
In a word, “resilience” has been the most important factor behind my success. I learned early on as an entrepreneur that becoming “successful” takes lots of failures, learning, and getting back up again.
I endured the typical challenges in starting a small business, such as lack of knowledge about certain systems, lack of capital, etc. I also endured physical and personal struggles during the first four years of my business, including a cancer relapse.
But, because of my passion for helping families through my company and my commitment to my dreams, I was able to be resilient, bounce back, and eventually thrive!

What should our readers know about your business?
I am so honored to support fellow autism families through my primary business, The Sanford Autism Advocacy Group. As the CEO, I lead a small but mighty team where we empower families through the special education process.
We want the world to know that ALL children can learn given the right resources!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Best vegan donuts at Donut Panic in Grantville. El Indio for tacos and more. La Jolla Cove and Balboa Park are also great tourist spots.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My business coach Barbara Maisonet has been so instrumental in helping me to maintain a growth mindset and see the potential in myself and my company. I would not be where I am without her!
