We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenn Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenn, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be the success of my business. I’d like to be able to offer financial abundance to my children and in turn, for them use that for their passions and towards living their life to the fullest. As a new parent, if my kids could inherit my genuine communication and my love to aid people when they are able, it would be a great accomplishment. When I’m no longer in this realm of existence, I would like to be remembered for my love and passion of self growth. The love for my family, myself, the human body and drive to always learn more. Being passionate to help others, my community, and even animals, has always come naturally to me since childhood. I can only hope and strive to instill not only skillful techniques, but genuine practices to help those who trust me to be a resource on their wellness journey.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been in the medical field for a third of my life and in a medical spa setting for 6 years. For me, since I’m on my path in studying eastern and western medicine, it made sense for me to learn body sculpting. Being a patient advocate is natural for me because I believe in others’ wellbeing and educating them through my personal experiences if it would help somehow. I have always wanted to be able to provide a service related to my eastern and western medical studies, but more importantly, to give people the care and attention that I appreciate receiving. I am most excited in being someone for clients to go to help their transformation, inner and outer. It’s exciting for me to learn how to properly drain toxins through your lymphatic system and help you feel and look even better. I’m excited to learn more than just lipocavitation, I’m looking forward to mastering wood therapy and learning ice sculpting in the future as well.
Being a new small business owner is challenging, especially at 4months pregnant and in the 2nd year of an ongoing pandemic, but here I am ready to succeed in abundance. Overcoming any challenge requires patience, organization, and reminding myself of my motivation and amazing support circle.
I’ve learned and am learning that things don’t always go as planned and to roll with the waves, no matter how they reach the shore.
I want the world to remember I am here for them to help them on their goal and to educate and support to the best of my ability. I will always be genuine with recommendations and services I am able to provide to you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was in town visiting me for the week. I’d start by taking them to Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach and heading down the cliffs to the beach for a bit and then drive over to get some malts from Hodad’s and walk the pier. Then head to lunch at either Rubicon Deli, PB Fish Shop and enjoy the beach and local shops some more or Mediterraneo over in Alpine for a hearty Italian meal served by my younger brother, shoutout Steven. If we went over to Alpine, I’d want to take them to a trail to hike and depending on the weather in the mountains, possibly see some snow. Another great place is the Barrio Logan local industry, I have several local creators who are friends and appreciate their art and creations as street vendors as well. I enjoy visiting my big supporter in his realm @_bluntztattoos at Deville Tattoo and would bring my bestie for a pair of matching tattoos for the week. Depending on the Sunday, I would also go to Balboa Park and hang out at Tianguis De La Raza, an event where local creators and food vendors gather for good vibes and fresh air with live music. I am genuinely a fan of supporting the local, especially when my friends are involved in the events as well. Some of the most interesting things to check out is the science and space museum in Balboa Park, the Zoo, heading to the secret beach in La Jolla and enjoying a slice of pizza in peace as the waves crash on the shore. My son is learning more so I would enjoy bringing him along to explore more of the outdoors and fresh air San Diego has to offer.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Opening my business 4 months pregnant with a 1 year old at home AND in an ongoing pandemic was no simple task and continues to prove it true as time goes by for this new business owner. With that being said, I truly could not have done it without the support of my family. My parents for the financial assistance, my siblings for being my practice models and watching my son at times. My partner, Jose, for being supportive during this whole process and pushing me on when I thought I couldn’t open at times. My son, Elijah, for being my motivation to be a better version of me daily. My friend who has become family, Jackie, for the logo, graphic designs, being a loving cheerleader in my corner. I don’t know how this could be possible without the endless love and support I received during this whole journey from my people, including my trainer turned friend Kristen D. Thank you to all who have, are, and will support me as I navigate through this new chapter on being a business owner.
