We had the good fortune of connecting with Burnz Fernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Burnz, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe the most important factor behind my branding success is authenticity! I am who I am, and I don’t hold back and pretend to be someone I am not, and my clients seem to respect that. I conduct my business in a genuine way. I truly care about my clients and I ALWAYS put myself in their shoes, and that’s what makes me stand-out from the rest. Real Estate can be cut-throat and it can get super stressful and frustrating at times. But I do not let those get in the way of providing great service to my clients. I do not have a business without the trust and respect of my clients, and putting all my passion and integrity in providing great service to my clients, is what keeps me successful.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a REALTOR, and I have been a San Diego resident for over 25 years, and I love this City. My Real Estate career jump-started when I was hired as a Relocation Specialist for Century 21 Award. I then worked my way up to the Escrow Department, decided to get my Real Estate License and now, I’m currently working with one of the most successful teams in San Diego – The Krause Group! Prior to all of that, I owned and operated a Home & Design Shop in San Diego, and had the awesome experience of winning a Reality TV Design Competition – HGTV’S The WHITE ROOM CHALLENGE. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, and Healthcare Administration, and I am a Certified Spin Instructor. Having my Interior Design experience, along with my experience working in Relocation & Escrow, coupled with The Krause Group’s 35+ years of Real Estate expertise, gives us a superior edge that makes us stand-out from the rest. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
San Diego is very diverse when it comes to entertainment, but we are very well-known for our various beaches. Coronado Beach is my personal favorite. There’s also a ton of shops and restaurants along Orange Avenue where I would go and grab a bite to eat and shop for souvenirs. Another place I would take them is Old Town San Diego. You can’t go to San Diego and not have the best Tacos and Burritos in town and Old Town has a good variety of Mexican Restaurants to dine in. Plus the rich history of Old Town is for sure not to be missed when visiting San Diego.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many people to give shoutout to, because I wouldn’t be where I am at without their love and support… First off, my Real Estate Mentor – JOANNE KRAUSE! She took a chance on me and gave me the platform to grow, flourish and thrive to be the best Real Estate Agent I could be. I would never forget that day when I came to her and she accepted me with open arms! Another person I would like to give a shoutout to is my partner – BRIAN DEARBORN! We have been through so many ups and downs and he’s never given-up on me. He always keeps me in check, and helps me be the best version of me that I know I could be. I love him so much and he deserves a lot of credit for pushing me to try and do the best that I can in everything that I do. ` I have to give a shoutout to my Frenchie – TINSLEY! Her unconditional love and her endless doggie kisses always makes my day so much better. Shoutout to my loyal CLIENTS, who continuously put their trust in me and for allowing me to be a part of their Real Estate journey! If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am at today. Last but not the least, a big shoutout to my little girl – OLIVIA, who’s growing-up so quickly right before my very eyes. She is my ‘WHY”, and the reason I get-up every morning and do the things I love to do!
