We had the good fortune of connecting with Stan Lieberman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Almost every college kid can offer to build a website for a client. What we offer is to first understand what the client’s business is all about, and how the website will help the business. Only then do we start creating a custom website for our client. And after we complete the website, we work with the client to market the website using digital marketing, SEO, social media, etc. We keep the website updated and supported for the life of the business. We help the client really get a return on his or her investment in that website.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My partner and I create custom websites for small businesses and professional offices. My background is in aerospace engineering. I worked for many years as an aerospace engineer. Started my own company which was one of the nine out of ten that was not successful. Managed many engineering operations. Finally decided to retire – which lasted for one week. Decided I needed to do something new and websites were just becoming popular in the late 90’s, so that is what I started. Took courses, read books, studied and practiced. Went out to get clients. And within a few years I had a going business. I partnered with an outstanding graphic designer, and chose colleagues with expertise in SEO, video, social meda, photography, etc. Major challenges were marketing our business, and learning how to build better and better websites. Patience, lots of study, work and more work was how I succeeded. Yes, there were failures and disappointments, but I never gave up. Remember, a failure is but an opportunity to learn something new so you don’t fail again. Our success is based upon one key thing: Many people know how to build websites but few offer the support that really helps the business with their website year after year. I have clients that have been with us for over 15 years! We build their website, we support their website, and we help market their business through their website.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s say my friend Dave arrives for a visit. But I cannot show him all my favorite places in a week. I would first take him sightseeing to Balboa Park. Probably need a couple of days to visit the Fleet Science Center, San Diego Air and Space Museum, The Museum of Man, and Natural History Museum. If he is really interested in spending more time there, we would add another day to see the art museums, Japanese garden and botanical garden. Maybe a visit to the San Diego Zoo if he is interested. Definitely a day visiting Cabrillo National Monument and Coronado with lunch at the Del. Other favorite places of mine are the Midway Museum and Balboa Park. if we visit this area, we will have dinner at the Top of the Mart. One evening, we will drive into La Jolla, view the cove and walk around Prospect St. And dinner at the Marine Room. Other evenings, we will visit some of my favorite local restaurants in Del Mar such as Milton’s, Ponti Vecchio, Sbicca, Zel’s, Le Bambou and Double Happiness. During our non-sightseeing time, we have much to discuss on our favorite topics. Much to see, much to discuss, many places to dine in the wonderful area we live in!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe my success to the love, support and encouragement I receive from my wife Joyce White, the support and encouragement from my partner Kate Brand, and the support from my Netforce group at the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.
