Meet Karissa Robles | Esthetician & Lash Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Karissa Robles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karissa, how does your business help the community?
Today, Winkxesthetics is helping the community in a unique way that I believe creates a ripple effect.
My brand guides individuals to find their glow and confidence from within. With every appointment, I notice my clients leave feeling lighter, grounded, and ready to show up as their best selves.
Each experience is more than just a service, it’s an escape from reality. I’m grateful to not only provide quality treatments that help my clients look their best, but also to offer a space where they can reset and just be with no obligations.
The relaxing, personalized experience gives clients a moment to breathe, reflect, and reconnect. In turn, it supports mental health and allows kindness and confidence to ripple outward into the world.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Karissa Robles, and I’m the founder of Winkxesthetics. A space I’ve built to help people feel powerful, confident, and connected to their glow from within. I’m a licensed esthetician and lash artist with over three years of experience specializing in lash extensions, lifts, and customized facials.
My journey in the beauty industry began with a deep love for self-care and human connection. I’ve always believed that beauty isn’t just about how we look, it’s about how we feel. My goal with every client is to create a space where they can relax, reflect, and reconnect with themselves. I want each appointment to feel like a safe escape from the noise of life, where they leave not only looking their best but feeling renewed and grounded.
What sets me apart is the intention behind everything I do. Every detail at Winkxesthetics from the music, to the atmosphere, to the way I customize each service is designed to create a deeper experience. It’s more than beauty.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. I started building my business from scratch twice. First in Fresno, and now in San Diego. I’ve faced moments of doubt, fear, and burnout, but what kept me going was my purpose: helping others feel seen and cared for. Every challenge taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of staying aligned with my “why.” I have never felt more in place than when I started this business.
I’m most proud of the growth I’ve experienced not just professionally, but personally as well. Winkxesthetics has become a reflection of who I am: strong, compassionate, and driven by purpose. I’ve learned that success isn’t about rushing to the top, but about building meaningful connections that are inspire all of us.
What I want the world to know is that Winkxesthetics is more than a beauty brand it’s a movement of self-love, confidence, and healing. My mission is to remind people that caring for themselves isn’t selfish; it’s essential. When we take time to nurture ourselves, we show up kinder, stronger, and more radiant in every part of our lives.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
After eight years of visiting San Diego, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite places. Everywhere you go in this city will lead you to amazing people and beautiful views whether it’s the architecture, the trees, or the ocean, there’s always something stunning to see.
If you’re here for the weekend, here’s my go-to itinerary:
Friday – Start your morning with a hike down to Blacks Beach. It’s a workout, but the views make every step worth it. After that, head to Kate Sessions Park for a cute picnic lunch with the skyline and bay spread out below you. Then, make your way to North Park and stop by Verbatim Books, one of my favorite cozy bookshops. For dinner, head to The Brigantine. I don’t think I’ve had better oysters anywhere else.
Saturday – Begin your day at Super Bloom Café for breakfast, then take a peaceful walk around Mission Bay. Later, wander through Pacific Beach (PB) to explore the local small businesses and shops. Grab a burger at Irv’s, then end the night at The Tipsy Crow downtown. The three-story bar is such a vibe — it’s an experience everyone should have at least once.
Sunday – Start the day at La Jolla Farmer’s Market then we enjoy a beach day, all day. Pack your sunscreen, your favorite snacks, and a good book, and head to Whispering Sands Beach. Relax, soak up the sun, and just enjoy the sound of the waves it’s the perfect way to close out a San Diego weekend.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to express my gratitude to my family; Karla, Arianna, Melissa, Jonathan, & Barbara you have all been so supportive and encouraging. Thank you for being my backbone.
And to my close friend Kayla, who’s been in the industry for 11 years. Thank you for so gracefully sharing your experience, wisdom, and support with me. Your guidance means more than words can express.
To all my clients, friends, and loved ones who continue to cheer me on, thank you for being my foundation. Winkxesthetics wouldn’t be where it is today without you!
