Meet David Fletes | Team Fletes I Team Leader

We had the good fortune of connecting with David Fletes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
If I had to sum it all up in one word, it would be resilience.
No matter the challenge, I never give up. I lead with positivity, persistence, and a refusal to accept “no” as the final answer. I see every obstacle as an opportunity to think outside the box, push forward, and find a way. That’s just who I am—heart first, always moving forward.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve built my business on relationships, not transactions. Every client becomes like family to me. I go above and beyond because I genuinely care—not just about the deal, but about the people behind it.
What sets me apart is my commitment to walking alongside my clients through every step, long after closing. Getting here wasn’t easy—it took grit, discipline, and a lot of growth. But the challenges shaped me, and they’ve taught me the value of trust, consistency, and leading with heart.
I’m proud of the brand I’ve built because it reflects who I am: real, resilient, and relationship-driven. This isn’t just real estate—it’s personal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d kick off downtown with coffee, a tour of the USS Midway, and lunch at Born and Raised before catching a Padres game at Petco Park. Next, we’d head to Coronado to explore the Hotel del Coronado, enjoy lunch at Serẽa, and spend the afternoon at SeaWorld, finishing with tacos or drinks by the beach. On day three, we’d visit Point Loma Lighthouse, grab a bite at Stone Brewing, and take in La Jolla Cove before dinner at The Marine Room. A morning round at Torrey Pines would lead us to some fun at Barona Casino, with a night out in the Gaslamp if we’re feeling it. We’d catch a soccer game at Snapdragon Stadium or relax at Del Mar, followed by lunch at Viewpoint Brewing and live music in Encinitas. Then, it’s culture and shopping with Balboa Park and One Paseo, capped with dinner at The Butchery. Finally, we’d cruise the coast in a convertible, stopping for coffee, craft beer, and a sunset at Moonlight Beach or La Jolla to close out an epic week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to take a moment to recognize someone who has had a profound impact on both my personal and professional growth—Rick Ruby.
Rick is not just a mentor; he’s a force. With a drill sergeant’s intensity and a heart dedicated to excellence, he’s consistently pushed me beyond my limits—mentally, financially, and professionally. His no-excuses, high-accountability style has taught me the power of discipline, the importance of structure, and the value of thinking bigger than I ever thought possible.
Thanks to Rick, I’ve not only gained a deeper understanding of finances and leadership, but I’ve also developed the courage to operate outside the box—and beyond my comfort zone. His mentorship has helped shape who I am today, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.
