We had the good fortune of connecting with Marc Aces and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marc, what role has risk played in your life or career?
They definitely both made and broke me over the years. I’m a sucker for being overconfident and too trustworthy at times. Nowadays I’m way more methodical with my risk-taking and so far it’s worked out much better.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well after wandering around aimlessly for a few years after I got out of the Navy. I found a mental outlet in bodybuilding and MMA, that transitioned into me starting to get hired in the private security/bodyguard realm. Eventually, through word of mouth, I started landing bigger and bigger gigs, too which I then transitioned into modeling which helped with raising my brand even more. From there I’ve been able to build longstanding relationships to where I’ve been able to work at my own pace and schedule and branch out into other avenues as well like all the more recently with personal training, and even hosting for my friend’s event ModernWav . My moniker in both work and life is centered around the word “pain,” which is both a playful nod to the challenges of life and a testament to resilience. Life can be tough, but there’s strength in being able to laugh through the difficult times and ultimately succeed.

What sets me apart is my deep commitment to work ethic and the unique experiences I’ve gained in personal security. I’ve had the privilege of working with high-profile celebrities, where my skills and my physical presence have been critical. The road to where I am today wasn’t easy; it was paved with hard work, discipline, and overcoming various obstacles both physical and mental.

One of the biggest challenges was earning trust and respect in a demanding field. Through persistence and dedication, I was able to prove myself, learning that consistency and integrity are key in any professional journey.

What I want the world to know about “pain” is that it embodies the idea that no matter how tough life gets, there’s always room for growth, success, and even humor. My story is about embracing the grind, understanding that every challenge is an opportunity, and always moving forward with determination.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, my best friends are a bunch of degenerates lol. I wouldn’t want that changed in any way, but let’s say I wouldn’t be in charge of planning where we hang out.

If for say I was going to entertain a significant other that came out here, or my mom. I’d plan a week focused on food, culture, and relaxation. We’d start with seafood in Little Italy, followed by visits to local museums, historic neighborhoods, and a farmer’s market. There’d be scenic hikes and plenty of time to enjoy the best regional dishes at cozy Italian spots and hidden gems. We’d balance exploration with relaxation, ending each day with memorable meals and great conversation, making the week about savoring life’s simple pleasures—good food, good company, and unforgettable experiences.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To my mom and dad. You’ve stood by more times than you should have. And it’s because of that I’ve been excelling farther in life than I have been.
