We were fortunate to catch up with some brilliant artists, creatives and entrepreneurs from throughout the Houston area and they share the wisdom with us below.

Yes, we have a household budget. We keep a few versions of our budget. Our current burn rate is pretty high, but so is our current income. We keep a version of the budget that shows everything that can be cut if we were to lose a stream of income. The luxuries would be the first thing to go if we were to lose/lower our income. Things we consider luxuries: house cleaner, meal prep service, laundry service, grocery delivery, food delivery, flying first class, actual luxury goods, etc. As far as spending goes, we save first then we spend. My favorite quote comes from one of my favorite composers, Ryuichi Sakamoto, who unfortunately passed away last year. These words were also some of his favorites – “Ars longa, vita brevis”, which translates to “Art is long, life is short”. Something that I strive for and that the band strives for on a daily basis is to create music that both lasts and is a net positive here. My all-time favorite book is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. The story follows a boy on his journey to realize his own personal legend / purpose in life. It reminds us that while we all start out seeking our destiny, few actually realize it, as many give up and settle for something else along the way. Read more>>

I would love for people to remember Kebab for his unrelenting love for and outlook on life. He is so resilient, having been rescued from an abusive family after his leg was broken at 1 month old. People would expect him to be scared and reserved, but he is so happy and friendly. If everyone lived with the same curiosity and genuine love, we would all be so much happier. I think we can learn a lot from animals about love, patience, and hope. Read more>>

I want my legacy to be a reflection of my life’s passion and the values I’ve lived by. As an abstract artist, I hope to leave behind a body of work that serves as a keepsake for my family, friends, loved ones, and art enthusiasts. I want my paintings to stand as a testament to my journey, a legacy of creativity and expression that continues to inspire.More importantly, I aspire to be remembered as a role model for my daughters. I want them to see my life as an example of keeping their passions alive, believing in themselves, and shielding their inner souls from external negativity. My drive, resilience, and unwavering pursuit of my passion, regardless of others’ opinions, are qualities I hope they embrace. Read more>>
