We had the good fortune of connecting with Rayna & Marcelo Moreno – Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rayna & Marcelo, what do you attribute your success to?
We understand that photography is a saturated business, especially in San Diego and we want to stand out. One way we do this is by providing a genuine, stress-free, and fun experience. We know that taking photos can be a bit awkward or at times stressful, but we want to keep our clients at ease and for them to know that we have their best interests in mind. We will always strive for our clients to have a marvelous time with us.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We love what we do and we want it to show, this is what sets us apart. This is not just a job for us, we genuinely care and enjoy documenting people’s stories through images. We believe that experience is everything, we want you to leave our sessions excited and overall happy with the time you spent with us. Another thing is that we are flexible with our style, we love to play with our art, let’s get creative together and try out new looks, poses, or prompts.

One thing we feel is easy for us is the engagement with our clients. When the Marvelous Media team is together, we flow through our sessions well, we balance each other and we provide comfort for all parties involved. Don’t know how to pose, we got you, Don’t know locations to shoot at, we got you! We want the world to know we are here! We are learning and growing always. We will be honored if you would like to trust us in providing you with exponential photography service!

As a husband and wife team, we have been through many challenges, we had a lot of imposter syndrome coming into our roles and we were nervous to start taking on clients. But a word of advice is to just do it! Have fun, pick up a camera, and enjoy the art. You do not have to have the best equipment or the most social media followers, just have a passion and the rest will follow.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
While San Diego County has it all! We have the mountains, beaches, architecture, and desserts nearby. So it all depends on what vibe you are going for! We recommend sightseeing as many places as you can! Go on a hike at Three Sisters Falls, visit some museums at Balboa Park, and head to Convey Street for some of the best Asian cuisine. Love coffee? Grab a drink at a local shop and it is bound to be great!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We were both children of some kind of first-generation family, we learned a lot of what we know by ourselves and through a whole lot of trial and error! One thing we can say is our family is what keeps us focused and encouraged. Rayna’s parents Pam and Ray, are always cheering us on, whether it is being the first comment on our Instagram posts, or marketing us to anyone who lends an ear, they have always had our back.
