The single most crucial decision that propelled me toward success, aside from choosing to work for myself, was undoubtedly the leap of faith I took to invest in my dreams and goals. Recognizing that makeup was a divine gift, I felt a profound calling to share this talent with others. With 14 years of experience in the makeup industry, the pivotal moment occurred when I made the bold decision to leave my secure corporate job after seven years and fully dedicate myself to pursuing makeup as a full-time career.

Taking this leap of faith involved a significant personal and financial risk, as it meant stepping away from the stability of a corporate environment into the unpredictable world of entrepreneurship. However, my unwavering belief in the unique gift bestowed upon me and the passion to make a difference through makeup drove me forward.

What sets my brand, MirthMUA, apart is not just the artistry itself, but the profound belief that beauty is an expression that emanates from the inside out. I am most excited about the evolving nature of my career, particularly delving into production work, collaborating with specific clients and artists, and exploring new avenues to elevate my artistry.

One of the key lessons I’ve learned along my 14-year journey is the importance of connections. Networking played a pivotal role in opening doors to opportunities in the industry. I firmly believe that it’s not just about what you know but, more importantly, who you know. Building relationships with individuals connected to certain clients and industries has allowed me to expand my horizons and take on diverse projects.

Transitioning from a 9-5 corporate hustle to a full-time makeup artist was far from easy. For seven years, I navigated the corporate world while simultaneously immersing myself in the freelance makeup realm.
