What’s the right balance between work and non-work time? The traditional 9-5 has slowly disappeared with the emails and zoom and texting going far beyond traditional business hours. We asked members of our community to share with us how they think about work-life balance.

Work life balance is really important to me & I can not imagine life without it. It is the reason I have been able to thrive having a career in medicine as a Physician Associate and a creative career as a published Print & Runway model. During the pandemic I incorporated fitness as a way to handle the stresses of working at the hospital. While we are all works in progress, constantly growing and refining, I’m really happy with the balance I’ve achieved in my life right now. But living consciously, or “mindfully” I guess is the popular term, is the key to that for me. Whether it’s environment; my wife and I split our time between city of Philadelphia and the island of Martha’s Vineyard, or as an entrepreneur and parent of three teens; daughter (15), and sons (16 and 13), balance of all the parts makes them each richer. When I first started painting I did not have any children or important responsibilities so I could just drop everything and pick up a paint brush at any time. Now that I have two children and I am a full time student studying Art History balancing, or as I like to call it (my juggling act) has changed dramatically.
