As I chose to become an egg farmer I consciously decided to stay a small family farm (under 3000 birds) due to the outlandish requirements of larger farms i.e. vaccinations. I don’t think most consumers realize the amount of government regulations that actually harm them. There are 74 pages of chemicals, vaccines, and additives allowed in or on “organic” foods! I would have to say that one thing outsiders are probably unaware of about my industry (graphic design) is that the time that it takes to design a logo or a graphic comes with years of practice so I can able to set my price on the value of my work. I have been asked why it cost so much if it take such a short time, and that is the point our time and knowledge to do it in that time is valuable. Read more>>
Most people in the United States are unaware that 80% (or more) of cut flowers sold in grocery stores, wholesalers, florists, etc., come from overseas. Of the 20% grown in the US, about 80% are grown in California with the next highest percentage grown in Washington, Oregon and the rest scattered around the United States. These flowers are usually specialty cut flowers and not imported from overseas. Therefore, most consumers have never seen or know about these locally grown flowers. Read more>>
The one thing about the acupuncture industry that outsiders are probably unware of is that besides pain being the number one reason a patient seeks our help acupuncture has been shown to be extremely effective in helping dermatological, neurologic, circulatory, endocrine, visceral, and every other system that operates the body, unfortunately, most insurance benefits only apply to musculoskeletal pain, nausea and insomnia.
