In our experience, most folks, including ourselves don’t have enough of an understanding of risk and the role it plays in our lives and careers and so we have made a concerted effort as a team to have conversations about risk with our interviewees. We’ve shared some highlights below.

Aysia Ianiero

I think taking risks has played a huge part in why I am where I am today. I find that when I was growing up I always wanted to branch out and follow the things that inspired me the most, even if they seemed completely out of reach or reality but the truth is that your dreams and goals are absolutely possibly for anybody that is willing to take risks and be driven towards prioritizing all of the little steps that lead you towards the dream. Risk is something that every person has to measure throughout their life. I always try to take as much time as I can to evaluate risk in the decisions I make pertaining to my career. My dad always told me, “never make a decision when you’re hungry”. Now, I think he told me this when I stole twenty bucks to get a sandwich. Regardless, the deeper meaning is that risk is best calculated when you are in a clear mental state.
