I believe that taking risks are important. If you are pursuing a goal or a dream it may require you to take certain risks. It isn’t the easiest thing to do. It can be a scary thing if you are someone who normally treads carefully. I’ve taken certain risks and it helped put me in a better position in my music career. Sometimes they won’t always work out the way that you imagined. I believe the biggest lesson of risk taking is knowing that you are willing to do things that may not be the most comfortable in order to achieve something greater. Risk taking is something that is constant within a filmmaking career. You always take risks. If you don’t take risks you stay stagnant. The only thing that is sure in my career as a filmmaker is taking risk. As filmmakers we take risks financially, physically and emotionally. You never know if your film will be received well, or if your film will recuperate the finances that you put in, or if you’ll get along well with people you bring on board your team, etc. In my career as a filmmaker, it is very important to embrace risk taking and accept that there may be times that you will be disappointed and that your hard work may not be recognized or may not be appreciated, but without taking the risk, you will not be able to pursue your dreams of filmmaking.
