What are you inspired by?

We asked some of the most inspiring folks we know to tell us what they are inspired by.
My music is inspired by Video Game Music, K-Pop, Anime, Pop, Hip-Hop/Rap, Taiko, and many more! Lindsey Stirling’s artistry inspired me the most for what I do today. I am amazed at how she incorporates the violin effortlessly with modern music, such as EDM. I also appreciate how she is able to move and play the violin at the same time. What inspires me is a washer and dryer that my parents have had since the ’80s. As silly as it sounds, it’s the truth. It’s not because I have a love for agitated laundry and clean smelling clothes, but rather due to the fact that things just used to be built better than they are today. I started Woodgrown because I wanted to build products the way they used to be made — to last. Every product is made with the intent that it should be kept for as long as possible, but still be functional, stylish, and bring joy to your home. Read more>>
My inspiration came from my struggle. Growing up, I always struggled with being overweight. My self-esteem was very low, and my body felt like a punishment instead of a blessing.
