We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Barnes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned from my business experience is the ongoing pursuit of excellence. It’s imperative to persistently strive toward achieving your goals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I found my way into my current role by learning from mentors in the fashion industry, taking calculated risks, and discovering what best suits my company’s needs. While it certainly wasn’t easy, I believe that in the face of obstacles, one must persistently pursue their goals. As for the brand, I want the world to know that it’s only the beginning, and I eagerly anticipate its continued growth and evolution!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my longtime friends is Jessica, and if she were to spend a week with me, there’s a lot I’d want to do.
First on the list would be a visit to Old Town for some incredible Mexican cuisine. We’d also swing by Liberty Station to explore a wide range of dining choices. Of course, we’d have to check out a rooftop spot with a view of the beach.
Balboa Park would be a must for exploring fascinating museum exhibits. And no trip would be complete without some sightseeing in Coronado or La Jolla.
We’d keep the schedule open for relaxation and spontaneous adventures too.
