We had the good fortune of connecting with Tino Gabaldon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tino, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I grew up in a very artistic family, my mother was a hairstylist when I was very young and my father has always been a great artist as far as drawing and graphic design goes. I grew up drawing up till senior year in high school and then switched to painting abstract art. All the while I was self taught and was the guy who cut all of his friends hair in the garage or basement just for fun. I was supposed to go to Art School, but ultimately I ended up being a Hairstylist. So I guess you can say, it somewhat just came natural to pursue something in this direction.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started T.G. Hair Studio in June of 2016. It’s my 1st time running a small business and just like anything else it has its ups and downs. I definitely learn something new every year that I can tweak or improve on and that’s a somewhat fun part of the process. I also have my own Men’s Hair Grooming product line called T.G. Hair Product that I started in November of 2016. I love that it sets me apart from other Men’s Hair Specialists in the area and the feedback I get from my clients telling me how much they love my product line.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my parents for always believing in me and never pressuring me to do something I wouldn’t want to do and to just do what makes me happy.
