We had the good fortune of connecting with Timmie Standridge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Timmie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of TSF is the trust I have built with my clients. When it comes to health and wellness, humans want to know they are not just a number. We are complex beings that require complex solutions. Each client deserves their own personal program and to know that I am equally invested in their success as they are.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Timmie Standridge Fitness (TSF) is a health and wellness brand that focuses on creating sustainable healthy lifestyles. There is no basic standard that works for everyone, each client has different body types, likes and dislikes. TSF proudly communicates with each person on a day to day basis; encouragement and understanding go hand in hand when it comes to someone’s fitness journey, This isn’t easy, if it was everyone would be in the best shape of their lives. Timmie Standridge Fitness creates a strategy for each individual and helps them implement this into their lives. When I first started TSF I had a more one size fits all approach and that was a hard lesson to learn. Not everyone learns the same way and methods of motivation are different for each person too. I am still constantly reading and learning new methodology for behavioral adjustments. Habits are a very hard thing to manage and one of my main priorities with my clients is to help them implement new good habits to replace some of the detrimental habits they have had in their lives for years and years.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If one of my friends was coming to visit for a week I would take them to one of my favorite hikes at Cowels Mountain, Potato Chip Rock or Torrey Pines. We would also have to grab brunch at Morning Glory in Little Italy and then walk around India Street. I would take my friend to Kate Sessions Memorial Park for a sunset picnic, the views are unreal. We would rent paddle boards and cruise around Mission Bay and then ride our beach cruisers to The Shore Club for lunch on their massive deck overlooking the ocean. We would go to Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach and take a walk along the path and then to the Wednesday Farmers Market they have in Ocean Beach each week. Dinner would be at the Ob Noodle House and we would have the house made peanut butter whisky shots. We would take one of the outdoor yoga classes and then grab tacos at Oscars in North Pacific Beach. One of the mornings we would Take a walk at the Cabrillo National Monument and then grab dinner at my favorite Italian spot, Cesarinas in Point Loma.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When thinking about who influenced me along the way a few people come to mind. First, my good friend Kim Stone, she pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me confidence in times of self doubt. Starting your own business is scary and having someone on your team cheering you on can give you the extra push you need. Secondly, one of my teachers, Pete McCall; he taught a course in my Fitness Specialist Program. Throughout the years he has continued to provide me with opportunities within the health and wellness space.
