Meet Thaddeus Burcham

We had the good fortune of connecting with Thaddeus Burcham and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Thaddeus, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting TBD Graphics and TBDMX.co stemmed from two distinct but complementary visions. With TBD Graphics, the focus is on providing high-quality design and graphics for factory racing teams, large corporations, and organizations. We’ve had the privilege of designing for some of the biggest names in motocross racing and creating essential graphics for police vehicles across California—a responsibility and honor we take seriously.
TBDMX.co, on the other hand, was born from a desire to step out from behind the scenes and bring our own brand to the forefront. After years of supporting factory teams and major businesses, we wanted to connect directly with the motocross community, offering our expertise in a way that celebrates the sport and its enthusiasts. This dual approach allows us to excel in both personalized service and brand development, aligning our passions with our professional goals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At TBD Graphics and TBDMX.co, our work is more than just art—it’s a fusion of creativity, precision, and functionality. What sets us apart is our commitment to creating designs that not only look stunning but also meet the rigorous demands of our clients, whether it’s factory racing teams, large organizations, or individual riders in the motocross community.
One thing I’m particularly proud of is our ability to adapt and evolve. With TBD Graphics, we’ve built a reputation for producing everything from full vehicle wraps to the smallest custom decals—serving clients like police departments across California, which is an incredible honor. With TBDMX.co, we’re stepping into the spotlight, offering our own brand directly to motocross riders, delivering premium products like number sets and graphics that combine style with durability.
Getting to where we are today professionally hasn’t been easy. There have been countless late nights, tight deadlines, and challenges we never saw coming. One of the biggest hurdles was transitioning from being solely a behind-the-scenes company to building a brand that stands on its own. We overcame it by staying true to our values—quality, passion, and customer focus—and by leaning on the incredible support system around me, including my business partner David and others who believed in our vision.
The journey has taught me a few important lessons. One, there’s no substitute for hard work and consistency. Two, relationships matter more than anything—whether it’s with your team, your clients, or your community. And three, it’s okay to take risks if they align with your passion and purpose.
If there’s one thing I’d want the world to know about our brand and story, it’s that we’re here to celebrate creativity, fuel passion, and give back to the communities that have given us so much. TBD Graphics and TBDMX.co exist to push boundaries—whether it’s in design, innovation, or the way we connect with our clients. Every product we create is a reflection of that mission, and we’re excited to keep growing and contributing to industries and communities we love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d tailor the trip around my passions, especially dirt bike riding, and some of the best experiences San Diego has to offer.
If the season was right, we’d kick things off with a trip to Ocotillo Wells for some free riding in the desert. On the way home, we’d make a pit stop at Dudley’s Bakery for a delicious lunch and some baked goods to take back.
We’d definitely spend a day at the beach, with Ocean Beach being my favorite spot. After some time in the sun and surf, we’d grab some incredible fish tacos from one of the local spots. For dinner, we’d either head to Old Town for authentic Mexican cuisine or make our way up to Julian to take in the beautiful mountain scenery.
Since I’m a So Cal guy at heart, we’d plan some time in the great outdoors—hopefully with their kids along for the adventure. Outside of the motocross world, I’d organize a camping trip at San Elijo State Beach. We’d spend the weekend riding bicycles, skateboards, and enjoying the simple things like sitting around fire pits at night, reminiscing, and having the best time of our lives.
For me, it’s all about combining thrilling activities with relaxing, memorable moments spent with family and friends. That’s the San Diego experience I’d want to share with anyone who visits.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Success is never a solo journey, and I owe a lot to the people and groups who have supported me along the way. First and foremost, my family—my wife Becky, my kids, and my parents—have been my biggest cheerleaders. Their love and encouragement have kept me motivated through all the highs and lows of building a business.
I also want to give a huge shoutout to my business partner, David. His dedication, vision, and hard work have been instrumental in taking this business to the next level. I couldn’t have reached this point without his collaboration and commitment.
I’m also incredibly grateful to my life long friend Steve from Less+More Creative Agency in San Diego. His inspiration and support have been invaluable, and his help has truly made a difference in our journey.
In the motocross community, the factory teams and companies I’ve worked with over the years have played a big part in shaping TBD Graphics and TBDMX.co. Collaborating with them taught me the value of precision, innovation, and building lasting relationships.
Lastly, the motocross sport itself deserves recognition. It’s been more than a passion; it’s the foundation of everything we do at TBD. Seeing riders push their limits inspires me to do the same in my work.
