We had the good fortune of connecting with Susie Castilone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Susie, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My balance has dramatically shifted being in the wedding industry, I’m able to be present with my kids school and sports m-th, some Fridays, and am able to pick and choose my Friday and Saturdays based on location of client needs and time!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Nothing ever worth having comes easy, am i right? I GRINDED while having a full time job, mom, and wife. I would take clients every waking hour of the first half of my day, and charge Pennies for it. I just wanted to share my passion for leaving women feeling beautiful, and empowered. Makeup can be scary for some, but doesn’t need to be. Once I had my business booked out a year in advance, I took the leap and left my full time job solely to focus on my business. every year as my business grows, comes new challenges, but I am always growing as a business, an artist, and a person.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would absolutely say most downtown spots in Sacramento are worth visiting! The food is incredible, the people are great and fun!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Ashley Baumgartner! We met years ago, and so beyond grateful we did. She is a very well respected photographer in our area, that has now become a real life friend!
