We had the good fortune of connecting with Sunni T. Connor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sunni, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
If you can’t imagine yourself doing anything else, you must keep going. No matter how hard, how uncomfortable, or how tired you may be, giving up is simply not an option.
What should our readers know about your business?
Deciding to be creative is one of the hardest choices in the world, but there truly is no other choice when your passions call to you. When you decide you want to work for yourself instead of following society’s standards of how you should spend your time to earn money, you are stepping far outside of the box. It can be a lonely world on the other side of entrepreneurship, however, it’s also extremely rewarding. My upcoming book, “Society Vs You” is all about killing limiting beliefs. The book refers to life as a game and each player came to the game with a gift and a purpose. It is your duty every day you wake up to show the world that gift. Leave your mark on this planet, you exist, you are here, and all of us as a collective need that special talent that’s inside of you. We are not here just to work, we are much bigger than the reality we created within society.
I’m so passionate about my work as you can see, but it’s because I want the world to know there is so much more on this planet than the illusion, we call reality. That’s what I help my clients do, I help them see beyond their limiting beliefs. I help them achieve things they couldn’t even imagine before they started working with me. I’ve helped with business ventures, and how to manifest with intention. Some of my clients simply need to shift their mindset from a poverty thinking pattern to an abundance mindset. I wanted to help people on a much larger scale which is why I wrote “Society vs You” which will be released in March of this year. I also talk about life situations on my podcast called Now Us Podcast on Youtube.
Being an author isn’t always easy, neither is running four different businesses. There are many challenges and rejections I face trying to show my gift to the world. The key is to know what you have and to be confident while marketing to others. You must put all of your efforts into anything that you do, or you’ve already lost the fight. One thing that set me apart from others is the fact that I embrace failure. I will fail over and over again until I succeed. Most people aren’t willing to go through that process. With all that said, the most prevalent lesson I’ve learned as a business owner was to take a break. If you burn yourself out, you will not be running your business to your fullest potential and it will show.
My brand Naturally Sunni was built from pure passion and love. I’m all about customer satisfaction and whenever I see someone holding one of my books, leaving a testimonial of how good one of my products works, writing a review of how my coaching changed their life, or even commenting on one of our podcasts it reminds me that it was all worth it. Naturallysunni.com is a one-stop shop, you can book a session with me, purchase products, grab one of my seven books, or simply just to connect with me and my team.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
San Diego is so beautiful and there’s so much to do! If I wanted to show someone a good time, I would start with Mission Beach. There’s something about the water that makes you feel grateful. For a unique bite, we would order the whole fried fish from Karina’s in Chula Vista, but if we were having a fancy night out we would eat at Mister A’s Restaurant. For just a quick cocktail and a nice view, we could stop at Altitude Sky Lounge overlooking the stadium. For some cultural fun, I would take them to Old Town. Lastly, just to chill and hear some good music we could visit Taste & Thirst downtown.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I love the idea of slowing down and recognizing all the people that helped me get here. Well, I have to be honest, my mom deserves the biggest shoutout! I’ve always had big dreams with no evidence that they could be achieved, but my mom encouraged me to reach for the stars, even though she couldn’t understand my burning desire to be different. My two children gave me that extra nudge to be great. I told them nothing is impossible, so I often have to live up to that statement. My soulmate wants me to win as much as I do, he’s up many late nights helping me complete projects, deadlines, editing, etc.
There are too many influential books to give recognition to but some of my favorite motivational authors are Wayne Dyer, Dennis Kimbro, Esther Hicks, Bob Proctor, and many more. I also owe a lot of my success to the content creators on YouTube, I watched many motivational videos, podcasts, and inspiring messages to keep my mindset focused. And of course, I have to send love to SD Voyager for allowing a platform for locals to express their creativity to the community.
