Meet Stephanie Kabalan | Filmmaker & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Kabalan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, why did you pursue a creative career?
Being creative comes from within, I believe it was born with me. I grew up in a family where my father values arts. When I was a kid, I used to tell my parents that one day I will touch the TV to go through it and stay there. That was a dream and by time it became true. I studied interior design for 3 years then pursued a bachelor degree in Multimedia. My first job was in a TV station back in my home country, Lebanon.

I can say that being creative made me learn how to present my work, explaining the ideas behind it in a way that shows what my brain sees and turn these creative ideas into reality to others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My story is long, it is written and dreaming to have it filmed one day. I can make it short and tell you that nothing in life comes easy, because whatever comes easy can leave easier.

Struggles and challenges always exist specially in my career, but, I overcame them with persistence, dedication and never gave up specially when facing obstacles. I learned that life in general is challenging and it is up to us as humans to face these challenges and keep on climbing hills to achieve the summit.

I, successfully, created my own SK Productions LLC company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota back in 2018. Providing all type of media services nation and world wide.

At a young age I achieved a lot and I am proud to say that I have been awarded several times as best Director for music videos in the Middle East, best filming contribution for Human Rights NGOs between Washington and Lebanon but the closest to my heart is giving the knowledge of how to capture, edit and film a great image as a professional instructor at the Minneapolis Photography Group.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
At this point, I am the best at it, everyone I know or meet call me the best guide. As, originally being Lebanese, I come from a beautiful peaceful touristic town called Batroun.

Batroun, is located northern Lebanon by the Mediterranean Sea. I was born and raised there.

Every time, I visit, friends and family abroad meet up for vacation. Some friends who never visited it before, I always make sure to be available to guide them through the town and Lebanon as the whole country.
I like them to have the best time ever and experience it from the sea to the mountains, I walk them around the town, throughout the cost, introduce them to the Phoenician’s history and of course try the best Mediterranean food and in specific the Lebanese authentic seafood places in Batroun and OH! Bar hopping there is a must.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my family and my parents in the first place, who supported me achieving what I have always been dreaming for. I won’t forget my only son Thomas, whom I am fighting for and working hard to support him the best lifetime journeys. He is my only strength to keep on moving and never give up in life, no matter what.
