We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Daily and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe mine is bravery. I’ve noticed that my willingness to do and talk about things people are too afraid to do and talk about is what continues to set me apart from others in this space.
I also believe the data I’ve collected about dating & relationships has positioned me as a trusted and sensible resource for people seeking dating advice & insight.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This blog and community was created during the thick of my own healing and it has evolved to be my main source of happiness, retreat and release whilst helping others understand their own thoughts, feelings and experiences through expanding their self-awareness.
I’m most proud of creating a non-judgmental space for all kinds of conversations. The data and insight I’ve crowdsourced from my community allows for people to consider new perspectives around dating and relationships which helps them create new/healthier boundaries, beliefs and values.
I wouldn’t say this was an easy journey for me. I’ve had to accept that people will judge you based on their own level of awareness and that any outside judgement of your reality is a false perception. I still have to remind myself of this. Walking a path that hasn’t been walked by anyone within my sphere of influence is exciting but also scary. At times, you have to be your own motivator, mentor, friend and protector. I’ve learned that inaction breeds self-doubt and the only way to combat that is by leaning into your fear and creating evidence that contradicts the self-sabotaging thoughts. I’ve also learned that you can only fail if you stop. So you can slow down, but never stop.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I was born and raised in San Diego! Specifically Leucadia (Encinitas) so this is exciting for me to share. I would recommend eating your way down the coastline starting from Encinitas, Del Mar, La Jolla, Pacific Beach all the way down to Little Italy and Downtown.
Encinitas – Beach day at Moonlight Beach and Pacific Coast Grill for a sunset dinner.
Del Mar – Assuming the horse races are going on, this would be a fun thing to do with a group!
Torrey Pines – Hike (which is more like a brisk walk)
La Jolla – Walk around prospect street and see the seals/ beach. Herringbone for lunch or dinner.
Pacific Beach – JRDN for brunch and walk along the boardwalk/ beach day.
Seaport Village – Puesto is my favorite taco spot. Get the filet mignon tacos and thank me later. Walk around Seaport Village after.
Little Italy – Morning Glory for brunch or cruise through the Farmer’s Market!
Little Italy is where I hangout on the weekends. My favorite restaurants are Barbusa, Nolita Hall, Herb & Wood, Kettner Exchange, and Born and Raised!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank every single person who has reached out and encouraged me to continue this path and for sharing your thoughts and stories with me. You have no idea how much those connections/conversations mean to me and I’m so grateful for this space that has allowed me to create and play where others feel seen, heard and understood.
