We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaun Savage and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaun, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
In order to be an entrepreneur and start a company from scratch you have to be willing to take a few significant risks in your career. When I started GoShare I had a six figure career in sales and it was certainly a professional risk to walk away from that to start my company as you risk damaging your reputation and foregoing other professional opportunities. It is also a personal risk because your work/life balance will change dramatically and you need your friends/family/spouse to support you as you take the risk. You risk losing them as you dedicate the vast majority of your awake time to your risky new venture. There is also obviously a financial risk as most startup founders will need to invest some if not all of their personal savings to get the business off the ground. However, with careful planning and resilience, these risks can be managed and mitigated. As the old saying goes, no risk, no reward.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
GoShare is a tech-enabled marketplace that connects businesses and individuals with delivery professionals for last mile logistics and moving services. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my friends visit San Diego I always take them to Coronado for a bike ride and beach, La Jolla, Sunset Cliffs, San Diego Zoo and Little Italy. For food I would take them to Miguels, The Henry and Cesarina.

Shoutout to the entire GoShare team including our employees, delivery professionals and investors. Without the hard work, dedication and resilience of the GoShare team, we wouldn’t be where we are today. My mom, Linda Savage deserves a huge shoutout for being our first investor and also one of our first employees. She hadn’t planned on working for the company but we got busy quick and needed her help. She was our VP of Driver Operations for several years and now she is semi-retired.
