We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon Pierce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shannon, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
After 20 years in the industry I still find satisfaction and happiness when arranging different types of flowers together to make them even more beautiful. For me, my art is using flowers and plants to make someone’s day just a bit brighter.

Like most of us, Covid brought with it so many challenges for me to overcome. It also gave me an opportunity to take a good look into what I want out of life and what I was passionate about. After years of using bartending to support my floral work, I decided to take the leap and devote 100% of my time to my business. I’m so glad I did. My shop is my solace and it’s where I feel the most myself. I hope others find it to be just as special as I do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think we are special because we let our clients vision shine through while we put our own spin on it. Each event and client we work with is different and let’s us step outside our norm. Being in this business so long, what’s “in” is constantly changing allowing the creativeness to never be stale.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well my favorite places to be are all near the ocean so I’m very lucky to live in San Diego. The weather here is almost always beautiful so there are many fun things to do! One of my favorite places to visit is Sunset Cliffs. There you can sunbathe, check out a gorgeous sunset and take in the views at Wonderland while enjoying some great food served by really sweet staff. And! Because you’re in the area you can stop by my shop.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Melanie Freed, she has been my mentor for nearly 20 years and now a business partner and friend.

And shout out to the little lion here in ob, not only is there food amazing, they are constantly coming up with new ideas to keep it fresh
