We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon Henry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shannon, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor is to ensure my clients are happy. Really listening to their needs, vision, and reasons behind their brand helps me to bring it to life through photographs
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is professional photography. However I like to refer to it as storytelling…capturing moments that pass so quickly. Whether a wedding, special event, or family photos, these are all moments and people that change over the years. Being able to document these happy moments, changes, or milestones has been a blessing for me to pass along to my clients.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The first place I would take a friend would be the beach. Ultimately when visiting San Diego, this is one of the primary reasons for coming (aside from the weather). The beach represents the first stop to unwind, relax, and prepare for the rest of the trip. From there a great meal with a great view along the San Diego bay. Other stops along the trip would be to show the diversity of this city…Little Italy, downtown, and North County. All of which represent something different from food to the local vibe!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s hard for me to recognize just one person that has had influence over myself + my photography. There are family members, friends, and peers that by supporting and referring me over the years has kept me going…and learning how to be even more creative.
