Meet Scott Tejerian | Guide and Interpreter of Astrological Language

We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott Tejerian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Scott, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In 2016, I hit rock bottom. After 20 years of waiting tables while pursuing screenwriting, I had come close to some real opportunities, but nothing ever materialized. I was frustrated, miserable, and desperate for change. In a moment of complete desperation, I found myself asking God for help – help me find something, anything else I could do. I had three conditions: it needed to be something I loved, something that helped people, and something that could financially support me and my family. I didn’t want a hobby; I wanted a real career.
A few weeks later, the answer came through my work. I was researching historical fighters for a screenplay, diving deep into a dense, century-old book called “The Pugilistica.” After spending a year learning to understand the archaic language and world these fighters lived in, I felt I knew them as athletes but wanted to understand who they were as human beings. That’s when I thought to look up their birth dates and research the astrological conditions when they were born.
What I discovered shocked me. The planetary positions perfectly reflected the personalities and characteristics of these fighters I’d been studying. This led me to explore my own astrological chart, and what I found was revelatory – it described not just me, but the me that only I knew. Using this knowledge, I began to heal from years of guilt, shame, and self-blame that had driven me to that desperate moment.
In that instant, everything clicked. I was no longer a screenwriter – I was going to help people understand themselves using astrology, just as it had helped me understand myself. I began studying intensively, learning to read charts and counsel others. Nine years later, this discovery has become not just my calling, but my livelihood. I’ve built a practice helping people unlock their own self-understanding through their astrological blueprint.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart: One comment I hear consistently from clients, especially those who’ve worked with other astrologers, is “Nobody has ever explained that to me the way you just did.” What makes my approach unique is that I’m completely self-taught – I’ve never taken an astrology class or studied under anyone. This isn’t to diminish formal training, which benefits many people and I even teach classes myself. But I’ve never been someone who learns well from classes or instructional books. I thrive through trial and error, which is something I’ve confirmed through my astrological code and my Human Design profile (another system rooted in astrology that reveals how we best learn and operate).
I also draw all of my client’s charts by hand. I’ll share some images of my work here, but I’m a very visual person, so drawing out the symbols thousands of times over has helped me in cultivating a deeper relationship with the language. Which is what astrology is, at its core. It’s not a science or religion. Astrology is a language that communicates how the planets and stars influence life on Earth. I’m an interpreter of that language. In order to understand any language, you must learn to read it, so the symbols are essential to becoming fluent in the language of astrology.
My professional journey: Getting to where I am today hasn’t been as difficult as you might expect. Compared to the decades I spent struggling as a screenwriter, this has felt almost easy. I don’t say that to be boastful – I think it simply reflects that after 43 years of life, I finally found the lane I’m meant to be in. I finally found my true calling.
Overcoming challenges: The biggest challenge in my life was finding something I could really excel at. I always believed everyone has gifts, but it took me 43 years to discover mine. What kept me going through all those years was that simple belief – that I had a gift, and if I could just make it to the next breath, I’d eventually find it. After 43 years of breathing, I finally did.
What I’ve learned: Understanding my astrological blueprint has given me insight into why I’m thriving in this work. This is what I was meant to do – to help others see themselves more clearly and support them on their life journey. It’s actually not much different from what I’ve always done naturally. I’ve been the friend or family member people turn to in a crisis my whole life. The difference now is that I’m being compensated for sharing my energy, and I can offer qualified guidance through the wisdom of the planets and stars.
My brand and mission: Because I struggled for so long – really beating myself down mentally for years – now that I’ve come through to the other side, I want to help people avoid that same pain. I’ve always wanted to help others; I just never knew how to do it effectively in a way that felt natural and enjoyable for me while truly serving those I connect with. My purpose is simple: to help people understand who they are so they can accept, appreciate, and love the divine, unique miracle that they are.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is such a tough question because LA is incredibly vast with endless possibilities! What I love most about this city is something most people don’t expect – the nature. I don’t think there’s another city this size on the planet with as much accessible wilderness.
The Nature Experience: I’d definitely take them hiking. There are trails where you might not see another soul – I’ve sat alone at the top of Nichols Canyon, looking down on Sunset Boulevard and the entire LA basin, millions of people below while I’m perched on a rock in complete solitude. The trails to the Hollywood Sign are classic (I used to hike them regularly when I lived in Beachwood Canyon), and the Palisades has incredible spots like Las Leones trail. I’m heartbroken by the recent fires in the Palisades and Altadena – those areas were so beautiful.
One night I was walking down Hollywood Boulevard after the bars closed, just me on the Walk of Fame, when I looked up and saw a coyote casually strolling down the sidewalk. Just the coyote, me, and the stars beneath our feet in the heart of Hollywood. That’s LA in a nutshell. When I lived in Beachwood Canyon, the closest parking spot I could find was up a hill far from my home. I had to pee really bad. I stopped at a bush, heard some rustling, peeked around the bush and came face-to-face with a deer.
Unique LA Spots: I’d take them to Spellbound Sky, the crystal shop on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Feliz. That place is pure magic – such a positive energy vortex. Be prepared to spend at least an hour there. And we’d definitely hit up an Erewhon, any location. It’s peak LA culture – incredible people watching and star sightings while grocery shopping. I used to frequent the Beverly flagship when I lived in West Hollywood.
Beach Vibes: Manhattan Beach is a must, especially mid-week or late at night when you can find yourself practically alone on this massive, pristine beach. It’s mind-blowing to think you’re alone on a beach in the second-largest city in America. El Sombrero there serves the best chips and salsa I’ve ever had – it’s one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
The beauty of LA is that it really depends on who you’re with and what they’re into. This city has layers upon layers to discover.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without question, my partner Gabriella deserves all the credit in the world. When I met her in early 2019, I was still waiting tables but just beginning to blossom in my astrology practice. Then March 11, 2020 happened – my last day at the restaurant, the day the world shut down due to Covid.
That moment could have been devastating for someone trying to build a new business, but I recognized it as an opportunity – and Gabriella encouraged me to seize it. She supported me every single day during the shutdown to use that time to build my practice, to work with clients, to develop my skills – so that when the world reopened, I wouldn’t have to go back to the restaurant. And that’s exactly what happened.
She’s been my biggest supporter and cheerleader from the day we met. What makes her support so valuable isn’t just that she believes in me and my abilities – it’s that she also knows how to lovingly guide me when she sees me getting off track. She has this incredible ability to see my potential even when I can’t see it myself, and she’s never let me settle for less than what I’m capable of.
The truth is, without her guidance during that crucial time, I very well may have ended up back at the restaurant – waiting tables in surgical gloves and a mask. Instead, she helped turn an uncertain moment into the foundation of my real success.
