We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Enero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I always loved traveling and because of it, I stumbled upon photography. I knew nothing about photography but I wanted my travel photos to look better so I attended workshops and watched endless videos and gained more confidence in using my camera. I started a travel photography blog as a photo diary of my experiences and adventures and have gained great feedback. Then, offers to monetize on my work started coming, and that’s when I learned that this creative path can be a great side hustle.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe I got to where I am today because of perseverance. I didn’t do the “fast” route. I worked hard on the concept and creation of the photos I share. I learned that people don’t just get lucky. You create your own luck.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite places in San Diego are definitely the beaches and brunch/coffee shops. For brunch, I’d take my best friend to Morning Glory, Breakfast Republic and Brockton Villa for classic La Jolla views.
For fun, I’d take her on a stroll in Mission Beach or we’ll hike at Torrey Pines.
Coronado is perfect for beach days with less crowds.
Sunset cliffs is also not to be missed.
I live in North Park so I’m partial to the places there. I love Communal Coffee for hanging out, Holy Match for Instagrammable spot and Pigment for getting some souvenirs.
I’d also check the events calendar as there’s always something exciting that’s going on in SD.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I gained a lot more confidence as well as learned more things about content creation industry thanks to Pangea Dreams. I was invited to join one of their retreats and met amazing women creatives around the world who support each other. I am still friends with the women I met, even traveled with them to different parts of the world. They no longer do retreats but I believe the connections made are still going strong.
