We had the good fortune of connecting with robin brailsford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi robin, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a tenacious New Englander rooted to Planet Dulzura. “Risk” is my middle name, necessarily, not by choice, by career. flying in the most difficult “fly without a net” arenas.. “As a public artist, I see my role are being the conscience of the project, and looking for potential in people places and things.” For the first time ever, maybe my timing is good: This pandemic has been generous to us rurally distanced Boomers – socialized medicine, LLC grants, mortgage furloughs and checks…. time and silence…. previously unheard of. Socialist support and TIME to work.uninterrupted. Two studios – maybe more. As a pragmatic New Englander the best thing I ever did was invent LithoMosaics: (with Wick and Shaw & Sons: ) ….and then patent it, for my own artwork (Brailsford Public Art) and others’. Those are the brands (Well and RAB Jewelry…) “Tenacity “is resurrecting BIRD PARK, the Official Children’s Entrance to Balboa Park, after 30 years languishment. Inspiration comes bushwacking in clouds, chaparral, sacred mountains and boulders. My scale is liberated, all over the map (jewelry sculpture, installation, photography, public art, books, models and conceptual series.) Just SEE The Grand Canyons of La Jolla, in La Jolla to see what I mean.. And so I am at the top of my game. Ah 2020 pandemic – the havoc you have wrought and the sabbatical you have delivered.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
