Meet RMthePoet | Rap Artist/Producer/Audio Engineer/Poet

We had the good fortune of connecting with RMthePoet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi RMthePoet, what do you attribute your success to?
Very Good Question, I would have to say the most important factor behind any form of success is hard work endless will and determination, the want the need to be great the mentality and willingness to work non stop to have late nights and early mornings, to visualize the goal and to work for it, to earn it, to understand nothing is giving in this life, and the will and work ethic and to know that no matter what obstacles there are, no matter how bleak things look that no matter what struggles you might face or facing that if you continue to work hard and never give up and never search for the easy way out that success will come if you just keep working hard!! never stop working hard for what you want to achieve whether its music, training, or your job or anything in life, working hard, sacrifice, grinding, endless will, and being a good person not stepping over people, also whats important is to surround yourself with like minded people, it is very important to surround yourself with people who either have the same goals work ethic and or mentality as you, the people you surround yourself with can also play a key factor in seeing success or not seeing success, I’m lucky to be able to have the will work ethic and determination and mentality just taking what I’ve learned over the years and applying myself like how I do in the gym with my music career, but having the right people around me has helped so much in the growth and overall success, I’m very thankful to those in my circle they are a big help, having a like minded team is something i truly appreciate, and although I have so much more ways to go in my career and life, I know things are headed in the positive right direction, I just have to stay focused and continue to work hard, and greater success will come.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Whats up, I Go by RMthePoet I’m a rap artist producer and audio engineer from vista ca, I create music and spealize in Gfunk Boombap Sound with real lryrism, to be honest I’m proud of everything I create cause I know the time and effort I put in to write every rhyme I rap and any beat I produce and all the time that goes into all the mixing and mastering my own music, but I’m very proud of my latest album “Like We Always Do” I put a lot of effort into creating that album, its gotten played all over in different countries organically and sold out psychical copies in Japan, super dope, also one of my songs “Wheels Turning’ was nominated at the San Diego music awards for best hiphop rap song back in 2024, I’m currently working on a new album not yet titled, and who knows maybe this new album I’m talking about will be released before this interview is out but if not be on the look out for that its shaping up to be a really great album a great body of work, I’m also proud of being nominated at the sd music awards two years in a row, last year being nominated for best hiphop/rap song and this year being nominated for best hiphop/rap artist, it makes me proud that my hard work isn’t going unnoticed, I’m just super excited to see what the future holds as I continue to grind work hard and try my absolute best to reach bigger heights and aim to be a true success story in every aspect of this shit. Ive learned a lot of lessons on this journey an thats a fact, I’ve learned trust in the lord and work hard, don’t listen to the naysayers and the dumb fucks who don’t believe and doubt you, is it easy? no but nothing in life is easy!! I want The World to know that I have survived alot in life and have been thru a lot in this life, my life hasn’t been easy and I’ve worked hard for everything although its not much, I continue to push thru all the pain all the suffering all the hurt to continue to try to achieve greatness and true success, Ive overcame most challenges and obstacles in life by just working hard and continuing to push forward! like rocky says it aint about how hard you hit its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward how much you can take and keep moving forward, this can be in any aspect of life, any path, just keep moving forward! Just continue to work hard and never look for the easy way out, the cowards way is the easy way out fuck that we on some straight up warrior shit in this life!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Shit hands down the best spot in Vista is franks restaurant, a community staple for years a locally owned family restaurant, and has to be one of the best food spots vista and in all of San Diego, shout out to franks restaurant, and tbh whenever I’m performing its ways gonna be a great time wit great people around and great music, and to be honest I don’t really go out partying or to bars or drinking and smoking and all that shit,i would only suggest bar or brewery if I’m performing there or if my squad is throwing a event or show there, thats me being straight up honest. I spend most of my Time making music, working and grinding, cruising my Chevrolet Caprice and just chilling and training.
