We had the good fortune of connecting with Paulina Delgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paulina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
By far the fact that I was once in their exhausted shoes as a new MAMA, sleep deprived and with very little knowledge on how baby sleep works and what to expect. I know exactly how they are feeling and this allows me to connect with my families at a very personal and intimate level. I know how hard this transition into parenting is and I am able to suggest simple, practical adjustments that can significantly change their sleep and lives!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a wife and a mom of two boys, Matias and Lucca. I was born in Mexico City, but grew up on the Tijuana-San Diego border. I’m a biologist with a master’s degree in nutrition and a certified pediatric sleep consultant.

the idea of starting my own consulting business was born the first morning I woke up after sleeping 8 hors straight for the first time in more than six months of being a new mom.

The chronic lack of sleep affected me physically, mentally and emotionally. My baby was 6 months old and kept waking up every 2 hours and needed to feed to go back to sleep. I would put him in his crib and he would wake up almost immediately. Having to go back to work full time with extreme sleep deprivation was physically and mentally impossible, yet I had to do it.

It was at that point that I decided to reach out for help from a sleep coach. We worked together for two weeks making big changes to our routine and teaching my baby to self-soothe and independently connect sleep cycles and finally get the rest we all needed. That first night of restful solid sleep, which also happened to be my 33rd birthday, was also the day I registered to go back to school and get certified as a pediatric sleep consultant and my business was born!

My personal experience with sleep depravation was the fuel to build something that would allow me to help other exhausted moms and guide them to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is actually one of my favorite things to do since I have a lot of family that is constantly visiting from Mexico. Lately we tend to go to kids- friendly outdoor spaces/ places. a trip to Scripps pier and beach, Delmar beach and La Jolla Village are definitely must visits. Some of our favorite places to get food are El Pescador (La jolla,Ca), Sugar N Scribe (la Jolla,Ca), Queenstage Coffee House for the best coffee in town (Encinitas,Ca) and for a scenic, delicious dinner we love the C-level restaurant in Downtown San Diego.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
yes, I can not agree more with the fact that my success is definitely in part due to the support group around me. I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my husband and partner in life and new business adventures to Matias and Lucca, my two boys and teachers in this parenting journey and to my mom who has dedicated a good portion of her life these past two years to support me in every possible way. Without their support none of this would have been possible!
